Firearms permits - inspections
Firearms permits, inspection certificates and declarations for lending out firearms must be presented if requested by the police or supervisory authority.

The Governor of Svalbard may revoke a firearms permit if the holder is not sober or deemed responsible or if he/she is considered unfit to possess a firearm for any other reason. A firearms permit may be revoked if the holder does not need or has no reasonable reason to have a firearm.
The penalty for possessing illegal firearms is two years in prison or four years in serious cases.
