The Governor's Weapons Administration wants a safe society with a good firearms culture, so there have been several controls this autumn and more controls are planned in the future.

The Governor's Weapons Administration carries out checks according to the principle of prevention, where the focus is on public safety.

The Weapons Administration has carried out five storage checks at private firearms owners this week. Only one deviation was discovered during these checks.

More checks will be carried out in the coming time, and we hope that most people have everything in order.

What is checked?

  • Everyone who owns a firearm is required to store the weapon or vital part in an FG-approved weapon cabinet.
  • Weapons and weapon cards
  • Storage of ammunition
